Natural Eyesight Improvement With Lutein And Carrots
Do We Have to Suffer Macular Degeneration?
Many people are now seriously taking a look at the health benefits of consuming lutein rich foods for natural eyesight improvement. Diet considerations also are being made as part of a natural remedy for cataracts, and to fight against macular degeneration. Every year a significant number of mature Americans hear the discouraging news that a cataract has begun to form in one or both eyes. The average optometrist do no more than tell their patients to use prescription strength eye drops as a temporary and possibly habit-forming "remedy" to combat blurred vision and dry eyes. Patients also are advised to make regular appointments with the doctor to keep watch on the growth of the cataract. Are these people ever informed of the health benefits of lutein rich foods? Are they ever informed about what they can do for natural eyesight improvement?
Is There Really Such Thing as a Natural Remedy for Cataracts?
Can cataracts in the very early stages of formation, be cured without resorting to surgery or other treatments that might be harmful? A part of almost every plan for natural eyesight improvement or for cataracts involves ingesting higher amounts of lutein and carotenes. Lutein and carotenes are richly found green leafy vegetables and carrots, preferably organic. Lutein rich foods are also believed to be very beneficial for bad night vision.
Few people like carrots and green leafy vegetables enough to consume them in quantities large enough to provide abundant carotenes and lutein for natural eyesight improvement. Nevertheless, eating just one organically grown carrot per day provide one hundred percent of an adult's daily needs. A small salad made of a real lettuce such as romaine provides carotenes; and more and more people are embracing meals that call for collard, mustard, and turnip greens. These are very lutein rich foods that promote all natural eyesight improvement.
A Real Life Testimony of Natural Eyesight Improvement
A mature lady who was born with perfect eyesight, started to suffer the irritation of dry eyes and a stinging sensation in her eyes. There was marked deterioration in her night vision as well; and she suffered blurry vision during the day. She was encouraged to consult an optometrist and to submit to an eye exam with a check for possible formation of a cataract or the dreaded glaucoma. Exam results revealed that a tiny cataract had indeed formed.
The optometrist directed her to use special eye drops for which he would write a prescription. This was to alleviate some of the burning sensation in her eyes. She was told that this is normal for her age group and should simply be accepted as a normal part of aging. Of course the optometrist said absolutely nothing about the probability of natural eyesight improvement by increasing the amount of lutein rich foods she ate. As is the case with almost all cataract patients, she was told to be sure keep an eye on the progress of the cataract by going to regular appointment with the eye doctor.
Lutein Rich Foods Go to Work
The consumption of only one large carrot or two small to medium sized carrots per day combined with taking six milligrams of lutein daily proved to help her achieve natural eyesight improvement. People wanting to preserve and possibly improve their eyesight should be willing to consume this very small amount of carrots on a daily basis. The carrots can be eaten raw, cooked, alone, and combined with other vegetables. One of the best ways to consume sufficient carotenes and lutein is to cut up an organic carrot in a dark leafy green salad.
Lutein can be purchased economically in the average grocery store or health foods store. Take the time to read ALL of the ingredients. This is especially important if you have allergies. It's usually best to look for a brand containing as few, all natural ingredients as possible. Yellow bees wax and corn oil generally are okay.
Fortunately, the lady saw the first of excellent result in only about 15 days. Of course this will not be the case with everyone as each individual case is different. It is fact that people are experiencing all natural eyesight improvement by consuming more lutein rich foods and getting sufficient sleep, along with other lifestyle improvements. Always check with your physician before taking supplements to ensure that you are not placing your health in danger.
