Scripture of The Day - 1 John 4:1
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world
The Garden of Eden and the Garden of Gethsamane
The garden of Eden and the garden of Gethsamane are two places closely related to the divine plan for creation and the divine plan for the redemption of mankind.
The Garden of Eden
The word Eden means pleasure. Indeed, the garden of Eden was an extremely beautiful and greatly pleasing place created by God as a marvelous gift for our first parents (Genesis 2:15). Eden was located in the region of a river from which four rivers branched: Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and the Euphrates (Genesis 2:10-14). In the garden of Eden was every kind of plant, flower, bush, ornamental and fruit tree. In the midst of Eden was the tree of eternal life and eternal death (the forbidden tree) or the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:9).
Around the latter tree was where the old serpent wrapped himself to deceive man (Gen. 3:1-6). When sin entered, Eden was stained by evil and sprinkled with the blood of the innocent sacrificed Lamb to cover human nakedness (Gen. 3:21). After sinning, "dying" man had to leave Eden to be exposed to the thorns and thistles of the desert (Gen. 3:18). And, so that sin would not live forever, two powerful angels were placed to prevent man's access to the "new forbidden tree in Eden", the tree of eternal life (Gen. 3:24).
The Garden of Gethsemane
The word Gethsemane means press. Indeed, the garden of Gethsemane was full of olive groves, and in its center was the press used to physically crush the olives and to spiritually grind Jesus. This is why, as he stepped into the garden of Gethsemane for the last time, Jesus said: "...My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death..." (Matthew 26:38). Indeed, in Gethsemane Jesus was wounded for our rebellion and grinded for our sins (Isaiah 53:2-5). In Gethsemane God placed on Jesus the sin of all of us (Isaiah 53:6). There in Gethsemane, the chastisement of our peace was upon him (Isaiah 53:5). In Gethsemane, Jesus suffered human and divine abandonment in loneliness (Psalm 22:1).
In the garden of Gethsemane Jesus was crushed between the two stones of Sinai (Exodus 32:15-16,19; 34:1), because through the Law is the knowledge of sin (Romans 3:20), and because the wages of sin is eternal death (Rom. 6:23). This is why, just like Adam after he sinned, Jesus, after having been made sin, left the garden of Gethsemane a dying man to be exposed to the thistles and thorns of the desert-like human heart, suffering betrayal from Judas, having been denied by Peter, abandoned by all of his disciples, the chastisement, insults, having been slapped in the face, the nails, and death on the cross at Calvary. Indeed, at Calvary, we were healed by his stripes (Isaiah 53:5). At Calvary, his soul was poured out like water. All of his bones came out of joint, his heart was like melting wax in his bowels. His strength was dried up like a potsherd, and his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth. They pierced his hands and feet and he was placed in the dust of death (Psalm 22:14-16).
The Garden of Prayer (The Sanctuary)
In the ceremonies carried out in the sanctuary during the festivities for the great day of atonement, the sins of the Israelites were placed on a goat, which was left stranded alone alive (as Jesus was in Gethsemane) to die in the loneliness of the desert (as Jesus did at Golgotha). That's why Jesus said: "...This that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors..." (Luke 22:37, Isaiah 53:12). For this reason, Jesus prayed three times saying: "...O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as thou wilt" (Mat. 26:39, 42,44).

Original Title: El Jardín Del Edén Y El Jardín Del Getsemaní
About the Author: Jorge R. Talbot (in his own words):
For more than thirty years, I have worked in investigative work and have published numerous medical and scientific works. But, this is my first attempt to walk barefoot on holy ground. I began to "study" the Sacred Scriptures at the age of eight and I have read the Bible for different reasons from the superfluous to the transcendent: from winning a Bible contest to knowing truth or attaining eternal life. However, I must admit that I've failed miserably in all of my attempts. But, finally, and thank God, I've come to understand that the true road to salvation is not a doctrine, but rather a person: Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and life eternal. No one goes to the Eternal Father except by the drawing of the Holy Spirit to Jesus Christ.
Now, like my colleague, doctor Lucas, I've written a book to try to put some order (in my mind) to the history of absolutely true things, after having tried to diligently research Genesis to Revelation (Luke 1, 1-3), though I must humbly admit upfront that I am not a teacher of the Bible or a scholar of the Scriptures, or a theologian, expert on History, or a writer. I'm just a sinner in love with God, who, like the fishermen and tax collector of old, I've tried to write a book on the Book of books to give all the glory and all the honor exclusively to God.
I am currently the director of the Biblical Research Society. And, though I consider myself the second worst of the sinners--I don't want to go against what the apostle Paul said (1 Tim. 1,15), I trust only in mercy and Divine Grace. In fact, all is in order for the great day of my Final Judgment: the Supreme Judge will be my dad (Eternal Father), my defense lawyer will be my big brother (Jesus Christ), my intercessor will be the Holy Spirit. And, what's more is that the prosecuting attorney will not be present, because they have thrown him out (Rev. 12,10). Meanwhile and ahead of time, the Supreme Court of Justice has told me: "Don't fear, just believe" (Mark 5,36). And, they have now granted me unmerited periods of rest to enjoy being with my most beautiful family from the paradise-like weather of southern California.
Based on true events, The Third Man by Angela Sheffield, brings the Bible up close and personal as the characters face real issues of life: Betrayal, deceit, romance, bitterness, anger against God, hopelessness, will power, perplexity, triumph, unforgiveness, mental illness, and the "Alcohol made me do it" excuse.
