Reduce Pain with a Deep Dental Filling
Toothache After a Deep Dental Filling
Many people experience toothache on some regular basis after getting a deep dental filling, especially if the dentist decided to leave a medicine pack in as part of the filling to help reduce the risk of infection. Although the tooth will probably never be totally free of a heightened sensitivity to hot or cold, there are things you can do, or I should say, avoid doing that will help to reduce discomfort associated with a deep dental filling.
Generally, commercial dentifrice aggravates the tooth as well as the use of strong mouth washes such as Listerine. You'll certainly want to totally avoid the use of hydrogen peroxide which literally destroys tissue. One of the best things you can do to reduce discomfort from a deep dental filling is rely on good old plain bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) for a dentifrice. How do you use it without stripping all of the natural enamel off of your teeth? You simply, brush in baking soda water, instead of dipping the brush directly in the soda, which would be too abrasive. Strong baking soda water also makes a most effective all natural mouth wash that will help to keep your teeth white.
