Are God's Promises Unconditional?
Many people have embraced the teaching that God's promises, including the one of eternal life, are unconditional. Such beliefs permit willful living in sin while retaining all of God's promises, which not only include eternal life, but also blessings. The Christian Bible, from the Old to the New Testament refutes such beliefs. One such scripture among numerous passages that do not support belief in God's promises being unconditional is Numbers 14:34 in which God declares to his people to whom he had made a promise, "After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my BREACH OF PROMISE." No, God's promises are not unconditional.
Question to Ponder:
There are numerous other biblical passages that clearly teach that God's promises are conditional. Can you name one of them?
