Crimes in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC)
Questionable Practices in the Church of God in Christ
Every type of license and official position within the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) requires the holder of the license or of the position to pay exorbitant annual fees. Those fees often amount to hundreds of dollars, which are paid to a central or "mother" COGIC, often referred to as "the temple." Among the people in the Church of God in Christ who owe fees are: pastors, the wives of pastors, ministers, elders, evangelists, and missionaries. When COGIC members are questioned about the financial accounting for the money they pay, hardly ever can they present official accounting statements in writing received from the temple or provide a credible oral accounting for the money they pay. The explanations generally consist of, "It takes a lot of money to maintain the temple." However, when they are reminded of the large amounts of money they spend yearly to purchase Bible studies from the temple, and the tithes and offerings collected by members of the temple, they cease to "answer" legitimate questions about the use of funds received by the highest COGIC officials. Why?
There is more than one reason members of the Church of God in Christ are more than willing to pay hundreds of dollars annually simply to hold a piece of paper. One of the principle reasons, however, for continuing to pay high fees without question is the vain desire to hold a license and/or some type of office in the church. These are the practices that are among those that are in disagreement with the Christian Bible. Other types of behavior that are in disagreement with God's word as well with the laws of the land have crept into the COGIC. Sadly, pedophilia cases, statutory rape, and murder figure among the sins and the crimes that are being committed in the Church of God in Christ, according to the web site: ReportCogicAbuse.com.
Criminals in the COGIC
The pastors, assistant pastors, ministers, elders, missionaries, evangelists, mothers, and Sunday school teachers are among the criminals who not only regularly attend church services in the COGIC, but also who teach, sing in choirs, take up offerings and tithes, preach, and "lead." Many who profess Christianity and many who don't are often quick to cover and shift focus off of their sin by "defending" themselves with, "You can't judge me!" Sadly, few Christians know the scriptures well enough to know the difference between judging and calling things as they are, which is absolutely scriptural. God's word is not difficult to understand when it tells believers, "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit" (KJV, Matthew 7:15-18). It is long overdue for Christians to get understanding of what it means to make sound judgment instead of keeping quiet when they have a duty to preach truth.
True victims of crimes in the COGIC are no longer being silenced by, "You can't judge me!" They are no longer being brainwashed into thinking that the church of God in Christ is the only "righteous denomination," and they are opening their eyes to the reality that anyone can call himself a Christian, though he might not live according to anything written in the Christian Bible. The use of God-given common sense goes a long way.
