Beware of Gay Exorcism

What Is Gay Exorcism?
Exorcism is defined as the practice of making someone or some place free of the indwelling or presence of an evil spirit. Therefore, gay exorcism is said to be the expulsion of evil spirits that cause homosexuality. It is practiced by some people who claim to be Christian as well as some who do not identify themselves as Christians.
Exorcism Misunderstood
Many people, including Christians, associate any type of expulsion of evil spirits with the power of God. They point out that we read that Jesus said, "And these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name shall they cast out devils...." (KJV, Mark 16:17). Consequently, anyone who casts out devils is assumed to be a follower of Christ, using the holy power of God. Such a person can convince some people that he or she can perform gay exorcism. What is the harm in this?
Some homosexuals desire to be heterosexual and are seeking ways in which they can become straight. If exorcists point them to biblical scriptures that speak of the abomination of homosexuality, they could convince them to submit to gay exorcism. While the indwelling of evil spirits certainly can and do cause all kinds of physical, mental and spiritual sickness (Mark 5:1-8, Mark 9:25, 2 Cor. 4:4, 1 John 2:11), exorcism is not always Christian. Therefore, what is called gay exorcism is not always Christian.
Christ warned, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you. Depart from me, ye that work iniquity" (Matthew 7:21-23).
The people in this scripture who had cast out devils, had done so in the name of a false Jesus, which is why they were the workers of iniquity. Yes, there are false Christs. The Lord indeed spoke of the signs and wonders of false Christs and false prophets (Matthew 24:24). Gay exorcism, when it is the expulsion of evil spirits by unholy power, is not freedom. It is not deliverance, though it might appear to be deliverance. Remember, we are warned that, "...Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness...." (2 Cor. 11:14-15).
The Power of the Word of God for Freedom
True followers of the Lord Jesus do cast out demons and devils in his name. However, it is not a decision that they make of their own will. True freedom from demonic possession requires the power of God, which is always under his authority and worked by his will. The servants of Christ do not make a snap diagnosis of demonic contamination for every homosexual. They do not "prescribe" gay exorcism as the necessary spiritual treatment in all cases.
A gay woman and her life partner began attending a Christian church as a couple. After some time had passed, they were approached by designated members of the church regarding their gay relationship. They were not automatically told that they needed gay exorcism. Neither of the ladies were aware of what the scriptures say about the sin of homosexuality, so they listened attentively to instruction. One received the truth; the other did not. The one who received the truth, repented of sin, accepted Christ into her life, and rejoices in her salvation. The other went away in great anger.
Often, it is the sharing of the gospel of Jesus that the Lord leads his servants to do. The Bible says that, "...The word of God is quick (alive) and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Heb. 4:12).
Satan hates the word of God, which is why he inspires rage in those who love darkness, when they hear the scriptures.
